11 Days Korea Trip - Seoul & Busan Part 5 (Seoul Folk Flea Market, Gwangjang market, E-dae, Hongdae, KTX-Seoul Station)

Day 8

On Monday morning, we checked out of the jjimjibang and headed to Seoul Station. There we rented lockers to place our baggage while we went sight-seeing. The lockers we rented was the 1500won (for our backpack) and 3000won (for our luggage) ones. Don't forget to take all your essentials with you before you lock because once you open the locker, you'll have to pay another time to lock it!

Breakfast at angel in us coffee (Seoul Station)

Our first stop was the Seoul Folk Flea Market, we went there a bit too early as not many of the vendors were opened yet. There are many antics and really REALLY old things for sale.. but as we were tourist, I didn't really have anything I wanted in particular from that place. If you are on a very tight schedule to visit Seoul, I will not recommend this place.

Lot's of antics lying around

Since we got pretty bored at the flea market we went to Gwang Jang Market for foodie!

Food Gwang Jang Market is famous for
1. Bindaetteok (mung bean pancake)
2. All kinds of Jeon (pancake)
3. Hobak juk (pumpkin porridge)
4. Mayak Kimbap (laver rice roll)

Just look at the rows of stalls, most of them serve similar dishes

Laver biscuit, it's really good! Buy this as souvenir!

Hobak juk (pumpkin porridge) must try!! So good that I miss it :(

Goguma (caramelized sweet potato)

Shikye (rice punch for 1000won)

Fried goodies :)

Honestly Gwang Jang Market is really a foodie place, highly recommended :)

Our last stop in Seoul before taking the KTX to Busan was E-dae or Ewha Womans University Street and Hong-dae/ Hongik University Street.

Edae and Hongdae are actually famous as shopping streets, but because we weren't really in the mood to shop due to our backpacking nature, we just roamed around and found a nice coffee shop to enjoy some sweet potato latte (highly recommended) and green tea hollycino from Hollys Coffee.

Accessories on these streets are decently priced and make good gifts for friends as they are small and easy to pack :)

Finally it was time to go to Busan for the second part of our Korea Trip.

on the KTX to Busan :)
Our journey took about 2 hours and 45 minutes. When we reached Busan Station, we asked a friendly and cute Busan policeman where is the location of our hotel and he kindly pointed it out for us. Since it was getting late we decided to just stay at the hotel after getting ourselves some dinner from the convenient store. We stayed at Hansung Motel Busan for our 4 days 3 nights there.
