11 Days Korea Trip - Seoul & Busan Part 1 (Namsan Tower,Seoul Grand Park, Korea War Memorial, Gwanghwamun Square)

First of all... I am seriously not good at keeping a blog... I don't think I'll ever be able to maintain my blog writing (seriously need some discipline here). Anyways, here I am again after a hiatus of 8 months. And this time to blog about my not-so-recent trip to the land of K-pop.

KLIA2 International Departure! So excited :D

Yay, here we go...
So on July 14, the four of us (Poh, En, Yanmei & I) were finally gonna make our 11 days trip to Seoul and Busan!!

We sorta bought our tickets way earlier (like a year or so) and we got it for about RM750 for 2 way.. not so bad of a deal from Airasia(we did not buy any luggage on our going but bought 20kg for the return fight).

Day 1

So yea,,, first day touched down in Seoul and we stayed at New Sun Guesthouse Myeongdong which was okay for us because it was clean and they provide free breakfast everyday which unfortunately starts at 8am (coz we are always out of the guesthouse by 7am). But yea, there is still cereal and milk which we could munch on before heading out.

there were 2 bunk beds in a room...quite squeezy but the bathroom was spacious LOL
Ramen for breakfast.. so unhealthy haha.. there was eggs, toast, cereal (all self service)
We sorta arrived around evening, so at night we went to Namsan Tower where I met us with some of my Korean friends who were previously taking intensive English in Swinburne. My sisters went up via cable car while I used the bus. Took me forever LOL :0

Friends I made in Swinburne.
With all the "love locks" we put up ours too of course :D
That was all about the first day because we didn't have much time. And so we went back to our guesthouse, not before buying a whole bunch of the famous korean banana milk :)

we had fried chicken for supper/dinner.. OMGosh it is damn good!

Day 2

We were headed to Seoul Grand Park. Seriously we underestimated this place. We sorta reached at 9am. It was quite a number of stations away from our station at Hoehyeon. Honestly this place is so freaking huge they have bus stops inside. So yea, be prepared to WALK.. ALOT.

They have a Rose Garden, but apparently when we went there it was pass the flowering season :(

The Seoul Grand Park Zoo is really worth a visit, we could easily spend 3-4 hours just looking at the animals. Entrance fee for the Zoo was 3000won . But we got hungry so we left to get our lunch and we had CHINESE :D

jjajangmyun - black soy sauce noodles

jjampong - spicy seafood noodles

We found this Chinese restaurant while trying to find the National War Memorial(?) it was around 2.30/3pm that time and we were like soooo hungry already, but thank God the food was so GOOD:)

but first let us take a wefie haha

Let the picture do the talking.. so yeap, for more info on The War Memorial of Korea click on the link. We easily spend the afternoon/evening here (2hours) just taking pictures and it is FREE (good news to our tight budget)

Our next stop was ChungDong First Methodist Church and then Gwanghwamoon Square, where we could see the Statue of King Sejong, Admiral Yi Sun Shin.. and again, it is free :D

Chungdong First Methodist Church, they have English service as well!

Admiral Yi Sun Shin

Behind us is Gyeongbukgung, another royal palace

At cheonggyecheon stream :)
We can walk along the stream and even dip our legs inside!

King Sejong's statue: The famous king who create the korean alphabet

During the night, we went over to Lotte Duty Free shop at the Myeong Dong area but it was closed :( so we just took picture with the various LED advertisement boards with all our fav Korean idols!

Yummy dinner at Myeong dong - Galbitang (beef short ribs soup)  gamjatang (pork bone with potato soup) and deonjang jjigae (soybean stew)
hae mul pa jeon (seafood pancake)

That's all for today! Will update more tomorrow :P
